From Farm To Cup – Berkshires

When: Alternate Fridays, 9am-12pm.

Where: Our Roastery is located in the Berkshires, 1.5 miles off of Mass Pike Exit 2 at 165 Quarry Hill Road in Lee, MA.

This workshop is designed for anyone looking to gain a deeper understanding of specialty coffee from green coffee production to its sensory analysis.

Overview
-Green coffee growing and production
-Discussion of origin characteristics, roast profiling and the Barrington Coffee approach to roasting single origin coffees for different brewing methods
-Coffee roasting demonstration
-Cupping and character of principle growing regions with a focus on coffee sensory evaluation and coffee language

Coffee growing, varietal phylogeny, processing, coffee origin character and roast profiling will be discussed and demonstrated to provide the background information for the sensory segment of this workshop, cupping coffee. Coffee cupping is the sensory analysis of a coffee’s appearance, structure, aromas and flavors.  We will cup one coffee from each of the three major growing regions.

The workshop is intended to immerse you in the complex world of specialty coffee and will provide you with the theoretical framework to critically evaluate coffee character and discuss coffee growing and production.

ALSO NOTE
-Please plan to schedule at least two weeks in advance and arrive at least five minutes prior to workshop commencement.
-Please wear close toed shoes and bring a hat and hair tie to secure your hair during the production segment of this workshop.
