Florencio Villatoro began cultivating coffee at the age thirteen while working on his father’s farm, Finca La Esperanza. Early on, his father gave him a small plot of land to cultivate for himself which he calls El Diamante. Together with the help of his wife, Lesvia Marilú López, his four children and five grandchildren each year they harvest and employ a fully washed process of their coffee.

For over forty years Don Florencio has continued to expand his farm while experimenting with different arabica varieties. His primary focus now is on growing Caturra, Catuai and Bourbon coffee varieties while increasing production and continuously improving quality. A lifetime of careful and concerted effort has created this whistle clean, classic Huehuetenango profile.

After repose, this coffee is sealed in Grain-Pro barrier packaging in Guatemala and then sent on its way to our Roastery where we preserve the green coffee under hermetic seal until it is roasted as part of our Barrington Green Seal Program© .
