Gera Estate was established in Jimma, Ethiopia in 2008 with just over 100 hectares of land. They have since grown to the estate to over 500 hectares through careful land acquisition and cultivation with some areas of the farm topping out at over 7000’ in elevation. Over half of this land is held as undeveloped, forest preserve. Wild, landrace coffee varieties abound through the farm. Perhaps the most outstanding note about this expansive farm is that the majority of the harvest each year is classified as Grade 1. This is homage to the quality of the high altitude environment as well as their exceptionally careful coffee processing methods.

The Gera is also available as part of our Africa Sampler and our Africa Tasting Pair.

After repose, we seal this coffee in Grain-Pro barrier packaging and then send on its way to our Roastery where we preserve the green coffee under hermetic seal until it is roasted as part of our Barrington Green Seal Program© .
