Our Tolima is produced by the Asociacion de Productores Agropecuarios de Cafes Especiales de Planadas, or ASOPAP, a forty farmer member coffee cooperative in the southern portion of Tolima located in the municipality of Planadas. The members of ASOPAP are young, determined and energetic and are forward thinking in their ecological agricultural practices as well as in the democratic economic and management structure of their cooperative. The farmer members are all located at high altitude in the fertile, volcanic soli of the Magdalena River Basin. They take great pride to continue the tradition of cultivating the traditional coffee varieties of their region: Bourbon, Typica, Caturra and Castillo.

As part of our Barrington Coffee Origin Certified™ Program, Tolima has been certified at origin by ECOCERT, S.A.,as having been produced without the use of pesticides, herbicides or synthetic fertilizers. Tolima has also been certified at origin as fair trade by FLOCERT.

After repose, this coffee is sealed in Grain-Pro barrier packaging at origin and then sent on its way to our Roastery where we preserve the green coffee under hermetic seal until it is roasted as part of our Barrington Green Seal Program© .
