Winey structure and weighty with tangy acidity and flavors of black currant, mixed berries, vanilla, banana cream pie, custard and freshly cut oak. Long, lingering finish.
This classic, Kenyan old-world SL-14 and SL-28 variety coffee is produced by the Thirikwa Farmers Coffee Cooperative at the Gakuyu-ini Coffee Mill in Kirinyaga county on the southern slopes of Mt. Kenya. The Coop is comprised of approximately 1500 smallholder members with over 670 women producer members.
Their cultivation of traditional Kenyan SL arabica varieties and their fastidiousness with all aspects of processing has garnered them record setting prices at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange over the years. This year’s harvest is testament to that and so much more.
After repose, this coffee is sealed in Grain-Pro barrier packaging at origin and then sent on its way to our Roastery where we preserve the green coffee under hermetic seal until it is roasted as part of our Barrington Green Seal Program© .
This coffee is also available with the Keremara AA as a part of our Kenya Tasting Pair.
