Floral aroma and sweet flavors of black currant, cranberry, blackberry and vanilla carried by syrupy body and bundles of high toned acidity with savory underpinnings. Retains vibrancy and winey tannins on the cooling cup.

This classic, Kenyan SL variety dominated coffee is produced by the Thirikwa Farmers Coffee Cooperative at the Gakuyu-ini Coffee Mill in Kirinyaga county on the southern slopes of Mt. Kenya. The Coop is comprised of approximately 1500 smallholder members with over 670 women producer members.

Their cultivation of traditional Kenyan SL arabica varieties and their fastidiousness with all aspects of processing has garnered them record setting prices at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange over the years. This year’s harvest is testament to that and so much more.

After repose, this coffee is sealed in Grain-Pro barrier packaging at origin and then sent on its way to our Roastery where we preserve the green coffee under hermetic seal until it is roasted as part of our Barrington Green Seal Program© .
